Personal Assistance in Car Care
Have you ever wanted a personal assistant? Someone to do your day to day tasks without the worry of doing it yourself. I have. So, I wanted to incorporate that idea and need into our business. But how does one intertwine a personal assistant with car care? Well, I wondered that myself for a while when I took over the role of Operations. I thought back to my time in corporate America, my experiences as a mom, and my general car care experiences as a woman, and came up with a few things we incorporated to make our guest's lives easier and more accommodating. Let me share what we offer that sets us apart from other auto shops in the area.
CURBSIDE SERVICE: When we launched curbside service in the summer of 2019, it was really to help people who were stuck at work or at home with quick oil changes and whatnot. We quickly learned there was a much bigger need than we imagined, and we needed to streamline the service. When the Covid-19 Crisis occurred, we took the time to work thru the kinks and bring you a curbside service that was smoother and easier to utilize. There are still days it goes smoother than others, and we are still learning how to best execute this, but we are happy to schedule a curbside pick-up or delivery of your vehicle. All we ask is that you don’t put us in death traps. If your wheels about to fall off, you have no engine oils and fluids, or no brakes, please don’t request curbside service. Our guest services are off the hook, but we don’t want to die for you. We do want to ease the load if you have kids and don’t want to drag them to an auto shop, or if you are autoimmune deficient and worried about going out, or if you are working from home and can’t escape. Whatever the reason you may need a curbside service, we are happy to accommodate.

DIGITAL INSPECTION: Have you ever been told that you needed car repair, but had zero understanding as to what the service advisor was speaking about? I’ve been there, and it is no fun. I wanted to give offer a visual service to accommodate those who learn, and are more intrigued, visually. In 2018 we started offering a full digital inspection that walks you thru the whole process. You can opt in to receive notifications on when your car is taken back when the inspection is complete, and when it is ready for pick up. We can send you videos or photos of your repair areas that need to be addressed, complete with technician notes, and the repair timelines and totals. This is such a savvy way to understand fully what is going on with your car or truck. This can be text or emailed to you. You can also have a call placed to you to go over everything in depth. If you are stuck in the office, on a plane, or simply don’t really want to engage much regarding your car, this is a fantastic service for you. It is designed to give you the information on how you prefer it.
PERSONALIZED GARAGE APP: Four years ago, we launched a free app in web stores to allow our guests to engage in a full-auto experience at the tip of their fingers. In the SCHMIDTAUTOCARE app, you will be able to download all your car's history, complete with parts, dates, and totals. You can make appointments, ask questions, obtain reward points, get sent our Schmidt Specials first, and join our auto clubs that come with fun free perks. It also boasts an instant messenger that is a quick and easy way to communicate with your service team or the marketing team. I think this is one of the coolest features our shop offers to our guests, and I recommend everyone downloads it.
